Leo High School Day at The Wedding Place

Again this semester, we at The Wedding Place were pleased to have the Interpersonal Relationship Class from Leo High School visit our shop! Each time they come we enjoy it. It is a day where they explore the excitment of wedding planning with field trips to various Fort Wayne locations. We get to share with them about how to choose a bridal shop that meets their needs and why that is as important as the gown they end up choosing.

Today we played a bit of wedding trivia too. The part all of these lovely ladies enjoyed most, I believe, is actually getting to put on a wedding gown! There are many times we have several brides in our shop at the same time, but never as many as the day Leo High School comes to visit! I couldn't resist snapping the photo of the abandon "regular outerwear and boots" while adorning wedding gown finery!

We thank Mrs. Brown for bringing them again this semester, your class is terrrific and we enjoyed them as much as they enjoyed coming to see us!

The Wedding Place in Las Vegas

I have just returned from an action packed wedding seminar in Las Vegas sponsored by Mon Cheri Bridals.

I attended many sales seminars, was in meetings with Brides Magazine, met the editors from The Knot, and learned of many great new things to come in the wedding industry!

We believe it is important to stay up to date on what is going on so that we can be educated and offer the best available to you, our brides and clients. We're on top of the latest trends and fashions and we are bringing that here to Fort Wayne! This three day seminar covered everything imaginable and there were lots of different speakers and discussions. There was never a dull moment. We met many old friends and new ones too!

What I'm bringing home to you is valuable as we stay up to date on information, trends and the best of wedding fashion!

But what is my first trip ever to Las Vegas without a bit of sightseeing on the strip. After the last seminar, of course.

11th Semi-Annual Veil & Headpiece Extravaganza

Don't miss it!! It's almost time for our special Veil & Headpiece show! This is a photo of our front window announcing this event. This will take place Saturday Nov. 28th from 10:00 until 4:00.



This year we've changed things up a bit! (Never the same ol' thing at The Wedding Place!) This time it is being held at the space at the end of the building. We wanted to have room for all of the great things and the people that we've invited! This event always books up quickly and is normally pretty crowded. We've got more room for you to enjoy yourself this time!





We have great new veils and headpieces coming for this weekend only. They will all be orderable at 30% off. There will also be some closeouts as cash and carry...more than 50% off!!





There's even more fun that we have planned for you! Ceruti's will be serving some great food treats. Megasound will be there playing wonderful music...there is a theme, but I can't tell you what it is. (shhhh...it's a secret!) One of a Kind Events will be there with gorgeous floral designs. All Occasion, our neighbor in the plaza, is doing the decor. You can have your hair and makeup done by Hair Etc. and even a relaxing massage by our other neighbor in the plaza, Lotus Spa. (I've had one...they're fabulous!!!) The Monogram Shoppe will be showing all of the great new attendant gifts and the latest in invitations. Come and make a day of it! Oh yes, for sweet treats we will have the Fort Wayne Chocolate Fountain we just can't forget chocolate!





There also will be gift bags for all of the brides who attend! Come and meet other brides and top wedding vendors enjoy a fun filled wedding planning day.





Tickets are available now. They are $5 per person and appointments are needed. Brides who hae already purchased their wedding gowns at The Wedding Place get 2 free passes to this event. A Preview of the New Fort Wayne Weddings Magazine

Last Saturday we supplied gowns for the editorial of the Fort Wayne Weddings Magazine! The 2010 issue will be out in Jan.

Here's a sneek peek of the model wearing our great Sophia Tolli wedding gowns. Her gowns are available in Fort Wayne ONLY at The Wedding Place.

The photo shoot took place at Castle Gallery in West Central Fort Wayne in the gorgeous historic building. When the magazine hits the newstands, it will be available for you free of charge at The Wedding Place!

A special thanks to Happinest Photography. Janelle & Shane were a delight to work with on this project, just like last year! Of course, this isn't their photography...just my "behind the scenes" shots. Just for a first time glance on what it might look like in the magazine!

Mon Cheri Wedding Seminar

Tesia and I went to a Wedding Seminar this past weekend presented by Mon Cheri. The seminar was held at Amelishan's Bridal in Hubertus, WI. It was sponsored by the MBBA - Bridal Industry Professionals. As the president of this group again this year, I still learn a lot from all of these great people!

After a long drive...it was well worth it. It was presented by Steve Lang, president of Mon Cheri and Martin Thornburg, designer of Mon Cheri. It was all about construction and manufacturing of the gorgeous gowns we carry!

There were about 80 people there, store owners, managers and seamstresses. There was never a lack of things to talk about as we're a chatty group. After learning and relaxing a bit with these great industry professionals, we made the long drive back home. We can't wait to share with you, our brides, and customers the great things we learned!

Bridal Spectacular last Sunday

We hope you were at the Coliseum this past Sunday. We had our Spring 2010 Preview Fashion show. Here are some photos from the event.

The "Bachlorette Party" veils were gifts for the first 100 brides attending at The Wedding Place booth. They were a hit! It was great to see how many brides were in attendance, as they were easly identified by their charming little veils!

In the runway fashion show models showed some of what will be available for 2010 weddings. New merchandise arriving daily! There will be many more new gowns for the Bridal Spectacular on Jan 2 & 3, 2010! If you were able to attend this show, or if not, mark your calendars for the next show!

Again this year we worked with our friends for the runway show June Hoffman from Megasound was our MC and music co0coordinator. Linda Maggart of One of a Kind Events showed us GREAT new bouquet options!
